Job Description

• Provide a welcoming presence in the CRC dedicated space, serving as a peer resource for students visiting the center.
• Assist with client engagement, initial intake support, and screening for incoming students interested in joining the CRC.
• Help students navigate campus and local community resources related to healthcare, housing, and external recovery services.
• Facilitate or co-facilitate peer-led recovery circles, support groups, or psychoeducational workshops.

• Collaborate on the planning and execution of substance-free social events and recreational activities to promote a vibrant, sober campus culture.

Required Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate degree UNCA program
Previous experience in peer advocacy related to substance use
Knowledge related to substance abuse issues in a college setting
Strong interpersonal skills, empathy, and the ability to build rapport with students.
Deep respect for strict confidentiality guidelines and ethical standards regarding student records (FERPA/HIPAA).
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team setting.
