The Course Ambassador is a supportive and approachable guide who helps students successfully navigate their course experience. They act as a friendly point of contact throughout the course, helping students understand expectations, stay on track, engage with course materials, and connect with the right resources when they need additional support. Key Responsibilities - Welcome and orient students to the course, its structure, expectations, and available resources.
- Guide students through the course journey and help them understand what they should be working on at each stage.
- Check in with students regularly to encourage progress and engagement.
- Answer general questions about course navigation, schedules, assignments, and processes.
- Help students identify where to find relevant course materials and resources.
- Encourage students who may be falling behind or becoming disengaged.
- Help create a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
- Identify common questions, challenges, or barriers students are experiencing and communicate these to the course team.
- Signpost students to instructors, tutors, technical support, or other appropriate resources when an issue falls outside the Ambassador's role.
- Support course communications, reminders, announcements, or community activities as needed.
- Gather student feedback and share suggestions for improving the course experience.
- Maintain appropriate confidentiality and professional boundaries when supporting students.
The Course Ambassador is not expected to replace the instructor or provide specialist academic, technical, or personal support. Their role is to guide, encourage, and connect students with the right people and resources. |
