Job Description

New Media Student Tutor / Open Lab Live Facilitator

The New Media Department is seeking a student tutor to facilitate Open Lab Live in the New Media computer labs. This position provides drop-in support for students working on projects and coursework in New Media classes. The tutor will help students troubleshoot technical issues, navigate software and equipment, and provide general guidance in a welcoming and supportive lab environment.

Required Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

Responsibilities include:

Facilitating scheduled Open Lab Live hours in the New Media computer labs
Providing technical and project support to New Media students who drop-in
Assisting students with software, digital tools, and other resources used in New Media courses
Helping maintain an organized, welcoming, and productive lab environment
Knowing when to refer students to faculty or other appropriate resources for additional assistance
