Job Description |
Student Organization Support Team Overview:Student Organization Coordinator team members are peer leaders who serve as connectors, teammates, and resources for both students who want to start a new organization, and Registered Student Organizations (RSOs) on campus. Duties of the SOC team include overseeing and facilitating registration of new RSOs, reviewing and re-registering existing RSOs, overseeing funding resources and processes, assisting in RSO event management and planning, and student organization development.
Duties and Responsibilities:Assist with providing direct support, communication, and guidance to both new and existing student organizations, including timely management of email communication with RSOs. Support onboarding initiatives and processes for new RSOs. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of RSO policies, resources, forms, student services, and other opportunities to aid in retention Coordinate various educational workshops for RSOs on several topics, including finance workshops, event management workshops, organization management workshops, and Rocky Connect workshops. Maintain availability for meetings with RSOs, such as one-on-one meetings, drop-in sessions, and group meetings Assist RSOs with the annual budget request through the Campus Commission process. Serve, in an advisory capacity, as a non-voting member of the Campus Commission. Schedule weekly Supplemental Campus Commission meetings. Work with Campus Life Student Leadership to develop social media strategies designed to promote RSOs and involvement opportunities on campus Foster positive relationships with RSOs, campus departments, and community partners by serving as a friendly, approachable point of contact in the Involvement Suite Collaborate and communicate with the multiple teams within Campus Life, including Involvement Ambassadors, Spirit and Traditions Coordinators, Campus Life staff, and community partners Identify opportunities for improvement and revitalization within Student Involvement, as well as provide innovative ideas to address any identified gaps Assist with Campus Life programming and events as needed.

Must be currently enrolled with a GPA of 2.5 or above Must have strong verbal and written communication skills Must have the ability to work autonomously and take initiative Must have the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment Must have strong organizational skills and attention to detail Must be able to ensure compliance of university policies Must have a general knowledge of campus resources, student organizations and UNC Asheville Comfort speaking to individuals and group Must have the ability to maintain neutrality and provide support to all RSOs
