Job Description

Read to Succeed is a local literacy non-profit with a Mission to close the race-based opportunity gap through community-powered literacy programming that engages children, families, and community partners.

The Read to Succeed (R2S) Literacy Intern will support community engagement through tutoring, and light administrative duties in the R2S resource library. Schedule is flexible. Tutoring happens either during the school day (8:30 - 2:30pm), or afterschool from (3:30 - 5:30 pm). Summer work opportunites as well, that would be paid by R2S at a salary of $25/hour.

Required Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

General computer skills (internet, typing, etc.). Good communication and interpersonal skills. Disposition towards learning in community with adults and children. Commitment to continued anti racism education and awareness in line with R2S’s Mission/Vision. Reliable transportation to work. Comfortable working as part of a time. Able to pass required background checks by starting direct service with students/children. Commitment to role for academic/school year. Reliable transportation.
