Overview of UNC Asheville's Public Fellows Internship Program in Partnership with the State Employees Credit Union Foundation - Interns will build capacity for underserved and rural areas with North Carolina-based and North Carolina-focused non-profit and government organizations by contributing to regular duties and working on at least one major project over the course of their internship.
- Interns will be paid $16.50/hour through UNC Asheville Payroll, funded by a State Employees Credit Union Foundation grant.
- Interns will complete a minimum of 300 hours during their internship. Internships are required to run from June 9, 2025 through July 25, 2025 - which correlates to the required IST 325 course start/end dates. However, to help interns spread out the required 300 hours, interns are able to begin as early as May 1, 2025 and work through September 7, 2025 in coordination with their supervisor.
- Interns will enroll in and complete IST 325, a course developed specifically for this program aimed at helping interns gain the most out of the internship experience. Participation in and completion of IST 325 is a requirement of the program.
- This Program is coordinated by the UNC Asheville Career Center. Interested students apply to the Program through this application and are then guided through the site interview and selection process by the Career Center. Students who meet the elibility criteria (detailed in the next section of this posting) to participate in the Program are not guaranteed an internship.

The SECU Public Fellows Program through UNC Asheville is very similar but distinct from the UNCA Internship Program. You may apply to both programs but only participate in one. The UNCA Internship Program application is separate from this application. |
