Working directly with Exhibition Curator, Drawing Professor, and Dept. of Art & Art History Chair Tamie Beldue, the employee is to assist with all duties related to the annual Drawing Discourse Exhibition. These duties primarily include helping with unpacking & re-packing of artwork, and assisting with installation and de-installation of exhibition. Other duties may include: database entry, hanging posters on campus, designing of signage, managing sales of exhibition catalogues and website management. Willingness to learn about art handling/installation practices is a plus. Priority will be given to those students who have previous work experience. Skills developed in this position will provide the employee with a working understanding of how exhibiting artwork relates to their own future exhibitions and puts them at a great advantage for future employment such as; studio assistant and gallery/museum handler/preparator. This position includes a multitude of facets that go into installing/de-installing an exhibition. The student will always be working directly with Tamie Beldue at all times, as a way to learn the proper protocol and handling of such tasks. This constant supervision will give Professor Beldue the ability to acknowledge good work and/or make corrections when necessary. |
