The Video Production unit of Ramsey Library schedules and operates a Television Studio and Audio Recording Lab, performs post-production in the Edit Lab, and records academic programming in various locations around the UNC Asheville campus. We are currently seeking a post-production Video Editor/Videographer to record presentations as part of our video crew and/or independently and assemble raw footage into cohesive videos, adding digital stills, pre-designed titles, lower thirds, logos, credits, etc. Programming is generally recorded away from the office, including (but not limited to): classroom presentations and events in various locations around campus. Student assistants help transport and set up equipment such as lighting, microphones, mixers, cameras, and cabling. They also help operate cameras for these productions. After the shoot, students tear down/pack equipment and transport the gear back to the Video Production suite. Student editors are given some training and general parameters to work within. The finished videos are posted on the Ramsey Library YouTube channel. Student video editors/videographers make key creative decisions and must be thorough and detail oriented. The student in this position may also work in the Audio Lab and TV Studio, as needed. Audio Lab—Student assistants are taught how to operate recording equipment and software to record audio tracks for students, faculty, and staff in sound isolation booths. Recording sessions are assigned based on the student's work schedule. Students record tracks for one-person voice overs and two-person podcast interviews, and are also taught how to lightly process and deliver files via Google Drive to clients. TV Studio—Various projects are recorded in the TV Studio including (but not limited to): green screen shots, head shots, weather forecasts, film scenes, student projects, and interviews. Generally, student assistants help set up and operate the audio mixer, teleprompter or cameras during the recordings.
We are seeking to hire one student with experience editing video using FCPX who can fulfill the duties described above. |
