Job Description

The UNC Asheville Office of Communication & Marketing is looking for enthusiastic students (or recent May 2024 graduates) to join our team of Web Content Migration Specialists for work in Summer 2024, with the potential to continue into the beginning of the Fall 2024 semester.

About the roles: Web Content Migration Specialists will assist in the creation of the new unca.edu University website, currently under development in partnership with Carnegie. Successful applicants will have completed one or more of the web design courses offered as part of the Web + Interactive Design concentration in the Department of New Media.

Essential Duties:

Build web pages based on a series of templates using the Kadence WordPress theme
Use the Gutenberg Block Editor to structure pages as content warrants
Conduct keyword research to enhance SEO in the GA4 Google Analytics environment

Essential Skills:

Must possess familiarity with web design
Must be able to work independently, think creatively, and pay attention to detail
Must be a team player focused on collaboration

Preferred Skills:

Fluency with WordPress

Preferred Qualifications:

We are looking to hire rising sophomore, juniors, and seniors, as well as recent May 2024 graduates

Students in this role will gain skills in:

Real world web page building
Helping create the digital front door to UNC Asheville
