This GIS Intern position supports NEMAC’s project with the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation and NOAA, and will assist other NEMAC GIS staff members through data acquisition, processing, analysis, modeling, mapping, and reporting in the development of a Coastal Resilience Assessment for all U.S. coastlines. Responsibilities include spatial data retrieval and management, geoprocessing and analysis, basic spatial modeling, creating map products, and assisting with final reporting and data dissemination. This internship will start in January 2026. NEMAC internships are ongoing, flexible, and may continue until graduation as funding allows. They are also reserved for current UNCA students only. All NEMAC internships require that the student provide a monthly report documenting tasks, accomplishments, and challenges, submitted regularly for mentor evaluation.
