The Division of University Advancement at UNC Asheville is recruiting student employees for 10-15 hours per week to assist with advancement event management, philanthropy education programming, corresponding with alumni, and annual giving stewardship tasks. An enthusiasm for UNC Asheville and a high level of professionalism are necessary to be successful in this position. This position is PAID AT $15/HR. The position begins Fall 2026 and will continue into the next semester, contingent upon an end-of-semester review. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Serve as Advancement Event Support Staff to help with tasks such as set up, breakdown, and checking in guests for a range of different events. Assist the Engagement Team with planning and execution of events that educate the student body and campus community on the importance of philanthropy. Examples of events include Student Philanthropy Week, Turning of the Maples Virtual 5K, and Give UNC Asheville on-campus events. Make cold calls to donors on giving days. Help the Engagement Team with administrative tasks: Writing thank you notes to donors, responding to emails, updating information in our database, and mailing gifts to alumni. Support the efforts of our Annual Giving team through calling constituents regarding fundraising campaigns, writing thank you cards to donors and weekly acknowledgments. Conduct informational interviews with alumni virtually and in person to gather information and assist in the advancement of alumni programming and development in support of the university’s first capital campaign. Conduct self as a professional and polite representative of UNC Asheville.
ABOUT UNIVERSITY ADVANCEMENT: The Division of University Advancement consists of several departments held together by a common goal: to garner resources and support for UNC Asheville. We do this by managing relationships with internal and external audiences, which include students, alumni, parents, the community, governmental agencies, and more. We collaborate closely with other departments on campus to share ideas and resources, as well as execute events that promote the university. |
