Set up and officiate intramural leagues, games, and tournaments, as well as scorekeeping and cleanup.
Required Qualifications
Current enrollment as a UNCA student in good academic standing.
Knowledge of sports rules and officiating mechanics for intramural sports (e.g., basketball, soccer, volleyball, etc).
Ability to maintain accurate game scores and manage timekeeping effectively.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with participants, spectators, and staff.
Demonstrated ability to make fair and consistent judgments under pressure.
Commitment to promoting sportsmanship and ensuring a safe playing environment.
Willingness to adhere to UNCA Campus Recreation policies, procedures, and safety protocols.
Availability to work evenings as dictated by the intramural sports schedule.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience as a sports official, scorekeeper, or participant in organized sports.
Certification as a sports official by a local, regional, or national organization.
Prior experience in customer service or leadership roles.
Familiarity with intramural sports programs or campus recreation operations.
Training in conflict resolution or peer mentorship.
Additional Requirements
Attend mandatory training sessions and meetings provided by UNCA Campus Recreation.
Successfully complete any required rule tests or evaluations for assigned sports.
Maintain physical ability to move around fields/courts and set up equipment as needed.
