Resident Assistants (RA) are integral members of the UNC Asheville campus who establish and sustain strong, healthy, and safe communities for all residential students. Resident Assistants take on an active role in facilitating and creating an environment of belonging conducive to student growth and success both inside and outside of the classroom. To be an RA is to be a campus leader who supports fellow students. The RA program is designed to develop strong leaders and lifelong community builders who affect positive change. Compensation Packages Package A - Starting stipend of $4,000 for the year
- Once serving in the position for one year (two semesters), ability to have a pay increase
- Residence Hall single room at no cost
Package B
- Starting stipend of $10,180 for the year
- Once serving in the position for one year (two semesters), ability to have a pay increase
- Residence Hall single room will be billed at a double room rate
*Both packages equate to same total amount* Required Qualifications: - A full-time degree-seeking student
- Intention to serve as an RA for the full academic year
- Cumulative 2.5 GPA
- Students whose semester GPA falls below a 2.5 may not be eligible for appointment or
- continuance.
- Actively in good conduct standing
- Act as a mentor to the RA Team by leading by example
- The ability to return/remain before and after fall and spring semesters
- Demonstrated ability to think critically, problem solve, and make decisions.
- Strong relationship building and organizational skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Can hold other employment on or off campus
- Such employment should not exceed 10 hours per week nor should it interfere with duties noted in the RA position description.
- Due to logitstical constraints, RAs cannot serve as an Orientation Assistant (OA) or Peer Advising Leader (PAL) while serving in the RA position.

- You can utilize drop-in hours Monday-Friday from 12-3pm at the Career Center on the first floor of Ramsey.
- You can submit your resume through this form to be reviewed by the Career Center. Important Note: It may take up to three business days to receive feedback.
- You can drop in to the Career Study Hall on Thursday, January 23 between 9AM and 4PM to work on your resume and have it reviewed.
