Highsmith Student Union Purpose: The Highsmith Student Union creates memorable experiences for all students, guests and alumni at UNC Asheville. We strive to provide a clean, safe and welcoming environment for the UNC Asheville community. In support of the university’s educational mission, we serve as a cornerstone for student growth, learning and involvement through the highest quality service and facilities. A. Guest Services Student Assistant Responsibilities Customer service excellence for all patrons of the facility Greet and assist all visitors in the facility Knowledge of events and programs in the facility and on campus Answer phone calls and serve as a switchboard for campus departments Address walk up questions, concerns, and patron needs Manage lost and found by documenting items and storing them appropriately Provide accurate campus directions and directory information Check out items using access lists and appropriate documentation and logs (keys, carts, etc.) Maintain and complete usage logs/reports Report maintenance and housekeeping issues to student manager Knowledgeable of Highsmith and University policies and procedures
B. Position Requirements Cumulative 2.5 GPA Time and task management skills Effective verbal and written communication skills Critical thinking and problem solving skills Demonstrates initiative Ability to work in a team environment General knowledge of Highsmith Student Union and UNC Asheville
